2.   Introduction

With an understanding of the existing knowledge gap among the major climate change stakeholders in the region, Climate Change Network Nepal (CCNN) along with Climate Action Network South Asia (CANSA) and Campaign for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods (CSRL), Bangladesh has come up with a three year regional project entitled “Strengthening the role of Non State Actors in climate change policy formulation in South Asia and enhancing their capacities to influence global climate change negotiations”.

Clean Energy Nepal as a secretariat of Climate Change Network Nepal (CCNN) is coordinating the project activities in Nepal. This project is financially supported by the Oxfam GB Nepal and European Union.
 

 3.   Objective
►The overall objective of the project is to contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation in Nepal and South Asia
►The specific objective is: Non State Actors (NSAs) in Nepal and South Asia have increased capacity to engage in national, regional and global decision-making processes related to climate change and to influence policies.
 

 4.   Activities
►Organize community level orientation in Nepal on NAPA and community based climate change adaptation: 24 orientation in 3 years
►Organize national consultation with NSA on country position on climate change negotiations before Conference of Parties (COP) and intercessions in Nepal: 1 consultation every year
►Organize regular Parliamentarians' briefing on climate change: 1 consultation every year
►Organize roundtable every year with key government, private sector and civil society stakeholders: 1 round table every year
►Pre COP/Post COP Briefing/Debriefing: 1 pre and 1 post COP consultation every year
►Climate Change Adaptation fairs: 1 adaptation fair every year
