Climate Friendly Duesi and Bhailo Program

Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA) in support with Clean Energy Nepal and Shree Ecovisionary Pvt.Ltd orgaized the Cliamte Change friendly Duesi and Bhailo Program on the auspicious occasion of Tihar, the festival of light. The prime obejctive of this initiative was to aware and inform people on issues of climate Change and other environmental issues.

"In Nepal we have a tradition to play Duesi and Bhailo for the shake of entertainment.But this time we have come up with an idea to play Deusi and Bhailo on the theme of environmental issues." said Mr. Manjeet Dhakal, Coordiantor for NYCA, a forum of Nepalese students formed to involve youths in changing climate change. "Environmental issues draw little public attention.But Climate Change and other enviromental problems have emerged as the biggest threat to whole earth. That's why we are going use this traditional festival to disseminate information on cause, imapcts and solutions to cliamte change and other problems", said Mr. Dhakal.
"We have prepared the songs, dance and skits on the issues of climate change, air pollution and solid waste management.We have tried to convey the message on simple actions that individuals can adopt in their daily life to contribute for environment and climate", said Ms. Sushila Pandit, an active member of NYCA.They visited organizations,community and individual household for four consecutive days.During the program they promoted ways to manage household waste such as composting, recycling, use of electric vehicles, plantation and use of cleaner technology.

The main attraction of the program was demonstration of electric vehicles and ways to waste management.

 The enthusiatic team of youths have received support from Clean Energy Nepal and Shree Eco Visionary (SEV). SEV has provided various types of Electric Vehicles which was used for transporation purpose as well as demonstration for public.

 NYCA intends to use the fund collected from the program for noble actions on environmental preservation.
