Climate Parade to Raise Voice against Climate Change

With an aim to aware people on present global climate dialogues and to create public pressure for finding solutions, Climate Change Network Nepal and its partner organizations  organized a National Climate Change Campaign 2007 by mobilizing school students, climate volunteer, city volunteer. Clean Energy Nepal and WWF Nepal took the lead role to coordinate this campaign.

This campaign was launched to synchronize Nepal’s climate change awareness activities with international climate activities coordinated by Global Climate Campaign. A huge international demonstration on climate change had been organized on 8th Dec 2007. Along with Nepal, about 84 countries around the world organized such programs on the same day to pressurize the most industrialized countries to commit to reducing GHGs.

The main event Climate Parade was celebrated on the 8th of December with huge demonstration on climate change in Kathmandu Valley. Before this main event, other supporting activities like Signature Campaign, Letter Writing Competition, ECO Quiz competition, Cycle Rally and Messages in The Himalayan Times were conducted by CEN and WWF.
